A Letter to Grandpa

To my Grandpa,
I miss you so much. You have been the patriarch of our family for decades and led us down a strong Christian path that includes to always love, be kind, do your best, and treat everyone with dignity and respect. From the day that I was born, I became your little buddy and you taught me so much! You and Grandma would take me on adventures around the country and throughout the Caribbean. I have admired and looked up to you more than anyone in my life. You, Grandma and I had the best times together. Thank you for always believing in and supporting me. I will always be so grateful. It’s hard to say goodbye, but it won’t be forever. Now, you and Grandma are reunited and I know that is what you both want! As Your great-grandson Hunter said,”Grandpa will be an angel in Heaven with Grandma.” I am beyond blessed that you got to have these past 7-8 years with your great-grandchildren and they will always remember you and those special times that we all have had together. I will continue to uphold your legacy, make you proud, and always be so very thankful for everything that you have done for Huw, Hunter, Riley, and I. We love you so much Grandpa! Give Grandma a big hug for us!

On January 5th we had to say goodbye to one of my favorite people. Grandparents are so special and I’m so thankful for all of the wonderful memories I have with my grandpa. I’m happy he is back with my grandma and grateful I had the chance to spend time with him towards the end.
