Martin graduated from the University of Oklahoma law school in 1954. As shown below, his loyalty changed when his son, Bob, attended Oklahoma State University. Martin did not run for president as indicated by the banner, instead he was the subject of the March of Dimes Celebrity Roast on September 12, 1992. Martin was proud of Ardmore and often worn a hat or coat with the City of Ardmore logo while traveling.
